I have wax dirt stored in plastic trash cans, some of it has developed some mildew. Anyone had experience with this, will it cause problems?

yep and yep for me. I had to get it out under roof for a few days [was not yet real bad] and a few days air it was just tolerable. For me i would not like to do that again. Fortunatly one a small batch and I used when it got real cold to keep the smeel down. Maybe others have not had so much trouble but I did.

Na and Yep. It had to have gotten some moisture. Soil was not bone dry or condensation in the trash cans. I have seen soil draw moisture in plastic pails. This was not a big problem. Just dry it again before waxing. After waxing put it in plastic mesh (feed) bags, so that it can breath.

Yes and I threw it out. Small batch from last year in a cooler that doesn't leak, had a haze of mold and smelled bad. If in doubt throw it out or save for testing.
