Called 30+ bears in over the years. Actually called more with the WT than all other calls put together. A guy here by the name of Reed Peterson has over a 100 called and most of them with hand calls. I did call in 8 bears in 5 days of calling once, with the WT. Never used anything else but the bear cub distress. Old boars come to eat them, Sows come to protect them, and smaller bears dont like to come as they are affraid they will get eat! The younger bears are VERY nervous when approaching the caller. Closest I ever had a bear come was 7 feet from the client. Was a touchy situation, but the bear just turned and ran off. I have found that 50% of your bears will run the other way when called. The rest will come right in. Just what I have found.

Thats what I wanted to hear. I have 7 baits out and I have some large males tending them but mostly at night, but every night on some baits. That tells me they are near by. The trouble is its thick, bad like 10-20 yards. Thanks for the tips

Seen a video a long time ago, where a guide called in a grizzly using a rabbit squeeler. Put that bear right into the hunters lap. He about messed himself. But got the bear.

I've tried this in Alaska for an entire black bear hunt but didnt have any success. I think it was because the juvenile black bears were hiding as there was also a Grizzly in the area. I have a file of a moose calf distress that I made. There is no reason in the world why it would not call in a brown bear.... I just have to do it to make it happen LOL
