Cleaning out the garage.....no interest in any more garage sales!
I have a brand new, smaller crock pot. Ready to pitch it.....
Then got to thinking......
Are there any uses for a crock pot from a lure making standpoint?
Namely, like melting lanolin or anything like that?
Probably the dumbest question ever, and this crock pot is on it's 9th life! Just thought I'd ask before it goes dumpster diving.
Should just box it up and send to Kaspar....I bet he'd make lure in it one night and dinner the next! That guy is tough!

Take the crock pot, put a colourful plant in it and stick it in the yard where the wife will see it. She love your sensitive side.
Then buy one of Stef's lures!

"Probably the dumbest question ever, and this crock pot is on it's 9th life! Just thought I'd ask before it goes dumpster diving." A dumpster diver is someone that goes in after the Crock Pot or any other treasures after they are pitched. Ive Dove before and have the scars to prove it.

Got my divers license, had it for years.
Would the crock make a wax pot from some young upstart? Just a thought.

throw it in the trash, too slow for heating. you can melt lanolin on stove, or in microwave a LOT faster. I may have been guilty of stealing a meas cup from the shed and using in the house in a pinch.

I've never liked lanolin much because it got so hard in cold temperatures.
I got some cod liver oil the other day for health purposes and thought it would make a nice base?

Crock pots work well for in-season wax dirt when you run out. Takes about 20 minutes per batch but can be done in the garage or basement without making a big mess. With 2 or 3 you can fill a couple big garbage cans in the fall when your working on equipment before season starts, too.
