I just sold a Remington R-15 short time ago. Not a bad rifle, and I believe Rem and Bushmaster are linked together by Cerebus or some such owner. Guessing some of the same parts.
However, I strongly suggest that you build an AR. Buy the stripped lower and then put in the trigger and stock that you want, right off the bat. Either build or buy a complete upper to your specs. It is very easy, and you'll save money, with better parts.
Most dealers/manufacturers want to sell these rifles with those damn hvy barrels, or short 16 barrels. You won't like carrying it if you use it for a calling rifle, and 16" is just too short for my taste. Now if you are going to kick in doors and take out Talibon, those little M4 style rifles might be just the ticket.

generally speaking the heavier the barrel the better accuracy as you heat up the barrel. So why would one want a sporter barrel on a semi auto that can handle 10-20+ round mags and many using on p dog towns?
