This is a subject that draws a crowd, other places? From what I can determine, at this point in time, I would lean toward a CS24 Foxpro.
Good hunting. LB

Yep as LB put it look into a cs-24 they are a great e caller and you can add as many sounds as you wish and order them into any list you want and no paper as the remote clearly shows you all sounds and order they are in.

The FoxPro CS-24 is the way to go. It has the volume when you need it, the remote has so many nice features and you can order a variety of sounds and add new ones anytime you need something different. I bought one this year, I used it in the vastness of Montana and my home state of Iowa. It performed great. Along with any unit, I would order two sets of rechargeable batteries and the 10 battery charger from FoxPro. You always want to carry an extra set of batteries with you in the field.

Foxpro seems to be pretty popular, does anyone like the Wildlife Tech models?

WT and still going strong after 15+ years, with a few up grades. I do have one model left that is over 10 years old and it still works great. Always used it as a back up, but only had to use it once when client shot my WT by mistake.

I've had the WT and the Foxpro and prefer the Foxpro. Not enough difference between the two result wise to argue about. They're both good units.

I expect to have my CS24L delivered tomorrow? As a recovering Minaska user, I expect wonderful performance. ElBee

LB what problems did you have with your minaska? I have found the one I had "big country" to actually have the best remote to unit reliability no matter the cover or terrain out of any of them. No need to ever prop it up in the air and worked like a charm.
I do like the CS-24 remote better, the sounds better and the battery system better. I do have at times areas where it doesn;t respond 100% unless I lift the remot up in the air or get it off the ground, not very often but does happen. If I can be higher than the caller meaning terrain wise or the caller can be out of thicker cover it works all the time well. It is when I'm on the ground and the caller is on the ground where I have seen a few issues.

I really liked the performance of the Minaska remote. I was getting like 800 yards line of sight on my previous one. But I guess the biggest problem is that it just sucks the battery dry and charging it in the cab was barely enough to get it going for the next stand, if you didn't care about volume or changing sounds or ANY command, for that matter? If there is anything that pisses me off, it's a caller quitting in the mddle of a stand. Now, multiply that by a dozen stands and you see how upset a man can get. In a word; reliability.

LB I had the same issue with the WT!!!! I do know the batteryies minaksa used are made over seas and some didn;t work worth a crap. I could get all day on most max volume in cold wetaher with the 2 out of the 3 I had. They seemed to last about 1 year and then started to go to pot. Good thing was any store sold that type. I understand though.
The CS-24 will go along time on a full charge, if you can find some eneloops or the high MA energizers I have found both to be very good. The remote run just a typical akaline like duracells or energizers in it, I have the same set in my remote for a year and they still show better than 75% capacity! Those FP remotes hardly use any energy at all, quite impressive.
