What is the point off these things? I don't like telling them what I catch. If you don't send it in pretty soon they send another one. Do you tell them what you really caught?

yes, i do.
I'm not one of those that things the dnr is the bad guy, not in MN-
I don't see why telling them the days trapped, counties trapped and numbers caught hurts anything-
their only knowledge of these things comes form trappers- and its used ot set seaosns, limits if needed, etc- in short, it gives the dnr- who does a pretty darn good job of managing things if certain parties would leave them alone(past and present)- a snapshot of populations, etc.
the cards are sorted by machine, no one knows your name or anything pertinent-
yesh. I tend to cooperate with all dnr surveys, questionaires.

Your DNR has more people working in that department and on the web page than Manitoba has on whole staff for the whole province. Keep them busy and get those results in.... you would not want another lawsuit with no background data available would you.

I always take the time out to fill it out. Haven't seen it yet this year. Maybe the canned me from the list. Never felt any conspiracy theories about the survey myself.
Got mine today. I/ll say I even Kind of look forward to filling it out every hear

ps- some years, i put them in envelopes, and write a comment sheet to go along-
this year, I will be bringing up NR trapping, earlier snaring, and earlier land opener- and te reasons why- if someone sees it, great, if not, cheap enough to do

It's pretty surprising the number of guys that will NOT fill out a little paper work for the Wildlife Biologists/DNR, etc .

Absolutely I fill them out and right away too. I am not sure what they use them for, but they obviously feel a need to have them and I have nothing to hide.

I still remember from my statistics classes in college, it is amazing how you can extrapolate from a small survey, harvest numbers for the entire state, and be quite accurate.
I always fill mine in accurately and send it in.

Filling them out helps with figuring out limits, seasons, and they just like to know how MN trappers did. It would be interesting with the high prices for muskrats this year, they can determine the harvest and compare to other years. I think it is good for them to send it out to all the trappers in MN.
