I got a pair in my Xmas stocking. Now I'm wondering what they can do.
Since it's the first time I've ever had a pair in my hands, educate me!
Thanks.

Musher they don't go in your hands but in a holster at your side. And they will always be there when you need them. If you are putting staples in to anchor your marten traps they are great for pulling them out, and you have used them to hammer the staple in, to start with. They will cut staples so you don't have to pull. They cut cable with the two side notch channels befor you know it. Not every farmer has a leatherman. ever wonder why you loose coyotes in roadside snares!!!! Are they new? or a garage special, there are some antiques out there the horse people pay big bucks for a wall hangers... They are good for pulling nails on the beaver board, on the inside grasper

Great for fisher sets...nailing in nails for supports on your 220s and cutting wire.

Wow, I thought I had this big secret tool for trapping. Turns out a lot of people use them on the trapline.

Hey we got to remember that poor Musher lives where there are just stone fences between neighbours. His area was settled before barb-wire was invented. We can't carry handguns as side arms in Canada, but we can have hosters with fencing plyers, there was 10 seised at the Calgary airport last year, if people were smart they would FedeX it back to themselves at security rather than surrender them.

Here's one! If the levers are tight when closed, they will pinch the hell out of the palm of your hand within a few uses. It will only take twice to customize. Heck of a multi-tool, if you got a quality one. I think the best one I ever used, was the one I watched my Grandpa use fencing while I was a kid.

I see where I can crimp a j-hook. I'm guessing that I can use the side notches to cut a j-hook. But what do I use to uncrimp a j-hook?

You can uncrimp J hooks with 'em too. Just catch the tip with the pliers, hold the body of the swivel in your other hand and twist up. Easier to do than to explain.

If you can't find a bolt to secure the grain auger to your bumper, fence pliers will work.
Bet there aren't too many of you who have done that, lol.
