no pictures- put up right to me means deburred, brushed and washed, then dried, brushed, then stretched, then prepped before sale. Soft, shiny and bright. Credit Lori for the put up.
I've seen pics of yours jim- I'd call them put up right. had quite a few good clear bellies, so a lot of $20 ones- our coyote here isn't bad, more of a western type than an eastern
but a weak bellie, either brown, or thin- and all of a sudden a $8 coyote. none lower, except for one very flat- $4

All that TLC for $14.56 avg.A labour of love.Heavy accent on the labour.
But if you're going to do it,it's best to do it right.Professional pride.Too bad you don't get paid for it.
Hope things perk up.

There is a compliment in there Steve. You are at least doing things right.By that I mean, the coyotes are all late caught and put up to the best of your ability.I applaud that.
I'm just sorry that all that hard work is not being appreciated by the market.
I really do hope they get it and reward the proper effort.

That's pretty good on the green beaver. Something tells me your beaver are furred out a lot more than the ones I catch.

Good job Steve! If you are going to do something, do it right! Can I ask who your buyer was?

Sounds preety good overall. How did the rats grade out? How was your overall run for sizes?

Looks as though the sky hasn't fell, just cloudy with a chance of meatballs.
Actually a pretty good take considering the forecast, coons were weak but it was pretty obvious. I need to be a full time rat trappeer, catch, skin and handle ....and retain price.

I am encouraged on those rat prices. Did you sell any castor?

How come you aren't shipping any fur this year? Or are you holding some back. I think you should put some rats on the march sale. You might do well. I asked one of groneys route men what they would pay on a good winters run of around 400 put up rats. He told me they could probably go $4.00 nose count. Isn't going to happen. I'll wait till FHA has their sale to see what happens with the rat market. I think the rat harvest will be short this year so who knows how strong It will be.

I think 4 bucks for your type rays is low gary.
I am thinking I should be able to do 4 here by the time I am done trapping. Hopeing to still catch a few to several hundred more.
I'm in Tim Roses camp when it comes to rats. They may be real good property by the time this season shakes out.
Watch the FHA January sale and for sure watch the early mink sales in Europe.
If somebody would offer me five for mine its a good chance they would be gone.

Lee doesn't think that rats are going to "take off" unless something occurs to really drive the market, but he does think they will hold steady with a slight increase possible
no castor- the little i get, I use.
mike- almost all are XL and 2XL- in that 15-17inch range- a few 18+, very few kits or damaged.
