I had a great trapping season thus far, and with this fabulous weather I figure I'm done for the most part. Alot of Iowa trappers will probably say the same thing when summing up this year - lots of empty traps. I did virtually the same as last season, and with now being a full time college student and having baseball practice everyday, I'm content with the amount of fur I was able to get. - The end of season fur picture should be up around new years. Hopefully its not too many pictures. Enjoy! And since we have a thread on doubles/triples etc I will start it off with this... - my brother ready to put the smack down - One of those $25 coon eh?? A fun and productive day on the Cedar River! --- --- - had a 280 set for beaver in a channel. First two days I had a rat in it...I set this colony trap in the channel and reset the 280, had this the next day...Not a bad stop. --- And thought I'd slip in a picture of my favorite tailgate shot of the season...

that`s nice, if there are 25 dollar coons, that boarded one is it. they will measure only to the closest tack, so those lines up the side of the tail, get them pulled as far as you can so no crack there, any excess either let it shrivel back or cut off. meaning that bottom needs straight across, no lines up the tail sides. whay a great scraping job. I`m impressed.

I agree. If there are any $25 coon this year, that ought to be one. Very good job scraping and putting it up. It is put up similar to the way Gregg Schroeder from NAFA demonstrates. Good job.

I enjoyed that!
Great 'rat photos. You can almost smell them.
That photo with the boarded coon is a framer. You'll show it to your kids and say something wise one day!

It is great to see young fellas hitting it like a pro can if the animals are there and the work ethic to match.
With all the good information and videos available it sure has shortened the learning curve significantly. Nonetheless, great photos, good methods and thanks for sharing.
Like ole JB I was young once, as was ole Beav,Bobw., Steve G, Steve C, and many other old timers that are still at it.Nice to know there are some youngins picking up our tracks.
