Went out with a friend this weekend on his mink line having too much fun, and we even caught a few critters. Got in a few more sets so he would have a better chance at 50 next time around...and if a weather front moves through anytime soon its going to be CRAZY!!! Are you sure you want to play pockets vs blind sets? He is sure he has your best season beat on the third check of the season! Better view of the mink

Bob, we had 4 about that size, size HUGE (I am 6' tall). His furbuyer referes to them as "Stove Pipes" and he called them 3-4 year old buck mink. No idea what they weighted, but would guess 3-4 lbs, and close to the 4 mark. There was a 1" gap between the tips of my thumb and index finger when trying to grab them around the neck.

What I love about that production mink trapping....lack of equipment. My truck bed does not have room for a box of donuts.....
That is a very impressive catch!

That's going to keep Dave Benwick's NAFA grader standing at a table for a little time, keep them coming. Bet you wish they were like their other little cousins...the ones you have a nine day season for in Mn.

yahoo, what a pile of mink. I feel like a Mink Trapper if I get a 1/2 doz of them around here. That would be a dream come true to be able to Trap Mink like that. Good Job marbleyez. but I don't feel much like a Mink Trapper after seeing you truck load. Thanks for the pic's

Now that's a fine catch of mink.
Question: the long rerod in the truck. Drowner rods or stakes in soft bottoms?

yep pocket set or not that is an impressive mink catch. The most I have ever done in a day is 6 on mink. But only ran 30 or so sets.

Now that's a fine catch of mink. Question: the long rerod in the truck. Drowner rods or stakes in soft bottoms? 30-36" stakes Looks like you had fun! Where's all the coon and rats? Next to the truck, didnt deserve to be pictured with the mink! there are actually a couple coon underneath the back row of mink, you can see 2 coon feet sticking up on the left hand side of the row. What I love about that production mink trapping....lack of equipment. My truck bed does not have room for a box of donuts..... That is a very impressive catch! MZ The truck was a lot fuller before we started setting traps, took all the coon and rats out to take the picture and ran out of bait. Skinning muskrats on the side of road to make more bait is always fun! Wish I had a steel with me as the skulls really do a number on the edge of a pocket knife.

FYI...this is not my mink line! I finally just took the time to ride along with a good friend on his line this weekend. Something I have been talking about doing for a few years and finally did.
I just hope the weather holds for a few weeks and he can push his personal best...only problem is he would be trying to convince me to hang up all those mink for a picture.
