No worries you have a live coyote!!! WHY??? LOL. If you want them dead go to 1x19 5/64th or 1/16th with a kill spring and a filed cam lock!!! dead coyotes can't chew!!!!! Also wouldn't have that much fraying with 1x19 versus 7x7. Live coyotes much tougher than dead ones!!! Also Bob look at those eye's and how there red and look sunken??? Think that coyotes vision will be impared for the running pens? Gotta give you a hard time. Great pic!!!!!! Here is what they look like in no cover and kill springs and cam's filed. Look close and you can see my extension around the tree, zero cable issues. Bowhunter not giving you a hard time just Bob and his live methods LOL. Maybe you have a live market far better than the dead one, great if you do.

yea got the live market thing going. Have just started trying to get some yotes caught. I like them live more than dead. There pelts here are worthless, not near as good as those northern coats.

I see a lot of kinking, no thread ends. if there are threads chewed, the one left is the one that counts. I`ve had 1 chew out on 1/8th in my life , out of hundreds, over 500. and caught him in a foot trap in less than 24 hrs still carrying snare. on 3/32 I suffered 50% chew out before I got smart, like 30 years ago. keep in mind if selling live you want no entanglement or tight cam locks or death. all 24 hr cks.

I have never used 1/8, so have no opinion.
I just thought- if you look at the nose, then follow that weed stem to the cable, that it looks like 1 or 2 strands are all thats holding him-

No foot damage, but judging by the eyes, some serious brain damage. They probably pay more for that don't they?

Well, the cable was still intact but chewed pretty good. No broken strands. He was almost choked himself out when I got to him as my deer stop just didn't hold like I intended it too. Kinda a rush chasing a yote around in a 10ft circle. The pogo anchor held him great. Lesson learned from this one though and that is to make sure not to use the crimp on stops anymore. It just didn't hold when he got buck wild and me trying to catch pole it LOL.

Yep swelling of the brain no doubt! I would switch to 1x19 and 3/32nd will give you the same ability of 1/8. You get smaller cable and a little cheaper. 1x19 far more chew resistant from what I have found on cable restraints. 7x7 no good as too easy for them to seperate cable with teeth, like a smashing action with there molars.
I only used it on coons in killing situations as 7x7 and live coons bad news for that cable makeup.

don`t go less than 1/8th on live coyote taking. whatever you do, don`t don`t don`t ever go less than 1/8th, especially based on advice of folks that are not in the live coyote biz and never have been. that coyote is not brain damaged. he is fine. sheesh. crimp on work fine, go about 9" out and crimp hard. in a bind I have wrapped bailing wire around tight 3 times and hit with hammer. tight close wrap like a tiny coil spring. makes a great stop.

Bob why have you tried 1x19 3/32nd??? 1x19 far superior in the chewing dept. The "few" I caught durring BMP cable restraint testing the 1x19 was far,far better than any 3/32nd device . Far more fraaying on 7x7 I found.

why would you say that 7x7 even in the next size bigger which isn't much, is far superior to 1x19 in chew resistance? I have snared plenty of coyotes Bob and the 1x19 always looks better no matter little time or long time. The wrap is tighter and far superior for chewing. Notice no fraying Bob none. You think size matters when it comes to chewing? A coyote is a coyote and a coon is a coon. They pretty much all have bloody mouths in cable restraints.

Before Trepus started using Stingers on his wolf snares, all he used on wolf was 3/32 1x19, cuz wolves didn't chew through. That's a 100 lb dog with supreme chompin' power.
1/8 on coyotes... that's insane!!!
Try some swivels there sonny!
