I have been using a Savage .223 bolt for the past year or so for varmit hunting, and I have to say I'm very pleased.
However, I wanted to get the husband something, and I settled on the remington SPR 18 in a .223 single shot.
But, I haven't heard much about them. Any of you know anything about them?

They're made by Baikal in Russia and imported by Remington, there are better guns available for the same money or a bit more. I see Tikka's and Rem 700 SPS's in .223 on Gunbroker.com for around $500. Guns are a lifetime investment so buy accordingly. Plus, as a woman, recognize that you'll probably take all of his guns in the divorce settlement, so buy the better stuff.
