Hey thought I would show everyone my new trapline buddy this year. Named him Bridger. He is 3/4 Patterdale, 1/4 Jadg. I love this little guy. Absolutely fearless and attached to me at the hip. Will go down any hole or take on anything. Probably going to get himself killed one day. At 6 months old he was working over badgers and killing wild barn cougars who dared to venture to close to the house. Wife hates him, but I'm hooked on these little guys. Never saw so much go. Though Braveheart would like to see him. Here are some pics of Bridger

Gotta get me one of those handsome little fellows.
Is that a cold brand on his butt?

I think the coolest thing about those dogs is their size. Good things come in small packages.

Nice looking dog. Terrier hunting has all but consumed me. I love them little dogs. Full of heart and piss.
He may look cute now but if he's anything like my terriers he will look like he went throught a cheese grater soon enough.
Good luck with him.
Keep us posted on how his first season goes.

Thanks everyone. I love this guy. It is a freeze or cold brand on his hip. I did it when he was too small and my brand did not all show up. May try again later. Bridger will be a year old in a month or two. To date, his reign of terror includes: 26 chickens, 5 housecats 1 muskrat 5 packrats a whole nest of baby magpies and countless mice He will grab onto badgers and ride them out until they throw him, but also figured out they bite. With these little dogs, the more they get bit or hurt, the more it pisses them off. Absolutely fearless. I'll keep sending some pics and updates.

To date, his reign of terror includes: 26 chickens I've been there! That's the only negative to having these dogs. If anyone has broke patterdales off of chickens, I'm all ears.

That is a good looking dog.I had to put my last old dog down.I think in the spring I will be looking for a new dog.Nothing like a good black dog. They are fearless but that gets them in a lot of trouble. Happy hunting.Did you get him from one of the guys I told you about?

Braveheart - I had a Patterdale a few years ago that I bought in MO. Very cool dog, but a coyote put the hurt on him one night and he had to be put down. I would be interested in learning about any good sources of a tough hunting type terrier that are fairl local. I like the look of that cross, orcatdog.

Thanks everyone. There are a couple guys here in Oregon that are really breeding these Patterdales well. Doing a lot of nutria hunting / nuisance control with them in the valley. I got mine pretty cheap because his mom was 1/2 pat 1/2 jadg, and dad full Nuttell (spelling?) bred Pat. I think he has the head and looks of a Patterdale, but a little bit longer legs like a jadg. Either way he is awesome. Except while gone on a hunting trip, my wife had his nuts cut off - sore subject for me.

Bad Wifey. I'd be a little upset, too.
