you may be right but they keep upping those good jobs overseas and upping the price I have to pay so the cheap labor can do them [thus bigger profit fo CO's] and I am making less everyday so how can I save ANY money ..IF I do it goes away anyway, SO get what you can afford now and need for your weapon enjoy it while you can and just remember price drives many decessions.

I guess I should have added...I want to put it on a .22 rimfire. Most of my centerfires wear a Leupold but I don't want to spend that much for a 22.
I am debating between Swift or Mueller.

I'm not really a scope snob, but can't pay money on inferior gear. If price were a serious consideration, I'd look at quality used scopes, fixed power. I have a Browning 22 that has a very old Redfield 4X on it, probably 40 years old? The scope came mounted on a rifle I bought and figured to throw it away but it's really a good one, more than suitable for a rimfire and far superior to the second tier stuff assembled offshore, and that probaly costs more, yet lacks durability and fogproof? Maybe Swift doesn't make a fixed power, I don't know? Even an old steel 4X Weaver would be an option, but a new fixed X Leupold is quite reasonable. I just don't think the japs make a decent rugged scope. Good glass, for the most part, but I'm just not a fan. Can you tell?

Swift is a good scope for the money. I have on and dropped it one time hard and never had to make any adjustments.

Swift scopes are not inferior scopes. However if a .22 is your goal, take a look at the Bushnell "sportview". a Very nice, fairly inexpensive .22 scope with large objectives and adjustability.
