Yuk, yuk, yuk. You guys are hilarious. Let's see, seventeen caliber. Yes, has a place in the cosmos, but not for everyone....like me. It's mostly for the dedicated fur hunter with much discipline, who can also place his shots accurately, because these little pills are not foolproof and will rip a pelt if you hit the animal anywhere but dead center.
Yes, Vic is a good friend and we kid about it all the time. The difference is that he is a crack shot and I do not use that term loosely. I don't get to hunt with him as much as I would like, but he has been using a 19 Calhoon for several years, and that's what he uses (seems like?)when I'm around. This is a step in the right direction; yuk yuk!
The other thing is, asking for loads on the internet is like buying a Rolex from some guy in an alley. It is far better to cruise the websites and see what is available, compare and do your own load development. It has a few advantages over taking somebody else's word for it. In other words, I don't believe in shortening the learning curve by using unknown and unproven data.
I'm pretty sure Vic doesn't currently own a fireball or a MkIV, but might have/probably did, in the past? He is one of those that buys and sells in the hundreds but keeps few. LB
edit: how did I earn all those blue stars? Wow!

Wasn't it stated that you either like the 17 or hated it,,, however the crows that have volunteered , heads were neatly removed with the little 25 gr hp, no problem with accuracy and bullet placement with the little gun, plus being able to still be on target to watch bullet strikes. Of course if and when the 22-250 is there in the safe.

I don't think it's necessary for me to either love or hate any seventeen chambering. Is it suitable for the task at hand, I guess it is, (occasionally) but it is not the answer to our prayers, best darn rifle ever made, etc. That's where some people need to curb their enthusiasm. I read where the 17 Remington knocks a coyote in the dirt at 400+ yards, and that every animal appears to have died of heart attack without a mark on him?
I guess that's what I mean; if I hate anything, it's all the hype. (it's not magic) LB
PS, I have a solution for watching bullet strikes, as well. It weighs 18½ pounds and is 22 caliber. Yes, it seems to occupy a narrow nitch, as does 17. lol

Normally, I could care less where somebody lives. Clue: I seldom hear use of the word sage rat from anybody that doesn't live in Oregon?
If your intention is to comply with Steve's request, why the mysterious response? Friend NB, means what, exactly?

Leonard, If his location is not Friend New Brunswick, he will not be allowed to post. Steve G makes the rules, and I try to get these guys to follow them. The location sure does make it easier to understand a guys posts when he is talking about certain subjects, animals, methods, etc and does avoid some confusion in answering posts. Steve
