I'd be interested in hearing the particulars of how you folks go about making this set, the specifics, so to speak!

The whole concept is just a flat set with 2 lure holes instead of one. Many believe, and I include myself, is that having 2 holes spaced apart makes the coyote walk through the set. The way I make it most is to look for an edge running parallel to their travel ways- the direction of approach. Bean field edges- 2nd row in, short grass against higher grass, grass clumps. against cow pies- about any type of flat set can be converted to a 2 hole set. While there are no set rules ( or rules for sets LOL) I like to have these 2 holes about 12-18 inches apart- where they fit naturally against the backing. Pound a rebar straight down 8-10 inches- and wiggle it around so the resulting hole on top gets 1-2 inches big. Then bed your trap so that it is between the holes- with the pan being roughly the third point in an equallateral triangle. Again- put the trap where it is naturally is in the path betwen the 2 holes. I like to narrow the pattern where the trap is- and add a grass clump, rock, cowpie, etc behind the trap as a back guide. Blend well. This is my standard set- and I have caught more coyotes in it than perhaps any other set I use. Main point- trap tight, holes vertical. a 2 hole set along beans- biscuit wrappers show lure holes a look at a flat set in pasture. Enough to give you the idea. I'd tuck the lure holes in tight at the edges more I'd blend the whole thing out more in the same irregular pattern if I was making the set- pic is just to show position.

Mines more like a dbl mouse hole and is configured similar to a regular dirt hole. I do blend the set well , sometimes I find an existing mouse hole and add another myabe make a couple of small mounds of fine dirt the the sides of these, or myabe dig one out like a canine would, at any rate I use bait lure and a small amount of urine at these sets and blend the trap bed well. .....B......
