They say the price flucuates alot and that it is recycled at rates between 30% and 70% depending on application. I hope the shotshell makers can find a good source and get the price down, as it beats all other alternatives hands down.
I also see heavi shot is making rifle bullets with it to. Don't know cost of these, but my A max 52 grain kills coyotes plenty dead. I say drop the rifle bullets and turn it into cheaper shot shells LOL.
A good supply for this material is needed to get more to switch. I'll still use dead coyote when the need arrises, I'm not shooting 100 rounds a year. It would be great plane fodder but at that cost that is a big no go for us.

No, there is a need for development of lead free projectiles for rifles. You may face a ban on lead based projectiles for hunting at some point in the future, particularly for 'varmints' which are shot and left to lay for birds to scavenge.
It's already an issue.

Gonna get a couple of boxes of the Dead Coyote this weekend and play. Start with Modified and go from there. I would be super content with a steady 50 yarder.

Sorry I don't see the big issue with the majority of critters taken with a rifle. I could see maybe on large dog towns, but outside of that majority of critters taken would pose little risk to any secondary feeding and the biggest use is big game by far.
I don't see anytime soon a mandate for big game or predator hunting a need to switch. I would love to see true factual data as to secondary bird posioning from thin walled, exsplosive rounds that most varmint shooters use?
39.99 per 100 would make some exspensive p dog shooting?

The studies are already being done on that with more on the way. I'll be interested to see the results too.

Had several boxes of Hevi shot 4s in the 3.5 and took them out along with a box of 6s today. 20 yards , wad was hitting target. 40 yards 90% + in 8 inch circle. 65 yards 40% in 8 inch circle. Completely blowing through a 50 year shingle sample board with 1/4 laminated backing at 65. This was out of the mossberg turkey tactical with a .695 choke. Couldnt find a modified choke tube for it so figured I would try what I had and am pretty happy. Figure fox, no problems to 50 and coyotes inside of 40 are dead with the 4s. Anything beyond that will live another day , unless daylight calling with the 17 rem. LOL Will have to find a lower base mount for my holo sight though. Have to cheek up a bit on the higher base and the 3.5s kind of tickle the chin a bit. LOL
