I borrowed a Ring Roller to do some a while back. It worked pretty good.

I cut a notch the size of the 3/16 rod in the end of a 4inch plastic gas pipe, inserted the rod in the notch and wrapped the rod around the pipe it came out like a collapsed coil spring, cut sections the correct length with bolt cutters, worked pretty well for 1 and 1/2 ,1 3/4 and 1 65 size traps. the rod came in 8 or10 foot lengths

I have a buddy who uses a ring roller to make his lams, it does work slick..Ive been wanting to get one but some other shop necessities have put the ring roller on the bottom of the list so to speak...

Coalminer , yep Altoona . Blaine , if a fellow has a mess of round jaw lams to bend , this is the ticket. I couldnt imagine how long it would take hammerforming them.

just saying it would look different is all....used to seeing round stock for lams....nothing wrong with it...one thing is for sure you would be able to tell who stold your traps if they was taken....

I started using in on square jaw traps, found a jaw from a shear tip with the same bend as the corner, cut it longer and formed it to the bend and welded, smooothed the edge and it is now a 6 1/2" wide trap. Looks different, but has a wide face. Sometimes I take a small 4" grinder to them to get a smooth surface from jaw to lam.

I like using 1/4" stuff for lams. Like on this 1.65.
