I don`t want your coons. I don`t even want my coons. they sell too cheap to be worth my time. any coons I keep are strictly a salvage operation. if I`m bored, lol, pun intended.

Bob- I of course agree- there are tricks that I no longer use (selling green) on putting up coon.
But- you aren't going to make any purses from sow's ears...

on coons and cats and coyotes I can indeed make a silk purse from a sows ear. in fact a BIG purse out of a little tiny ear. I can change the size, the color the silkyness and the clarity. all 4.

On coon you gain color grades and make the fur softer buy drumming and you can gain length buy the way you skin. Also I think it’s a plus to have the fur a little greasy in the window but there’s no help for wet sows and late pups.
On coyotes in are area at least there are some that I shoot because there just so dam ugly and the only place for them is a hole in the ground.

What are you drumming with? And how do you change the 4x-5x yellow backs to silver/black?

Mind sharing how you can
"change the size, the color the silkyness and the clarity"
I think weve covered the size part already. How about the other 3? I would gladly take a doubling in the number of select coons I have up at auction!

My coon are cleaned, drummed, fluffy ....along with other tricks...
I board it with the bottom pinned and lever the nose over the tip....plus a lot is in the cut....some guys think they have the " cut " but really are losing $$ ..
Top avg price at the local auction doesnt lie.....and thats with over 100 people selling.....8 to 10 buyers....
Buyers were drooling over the stuff ....hard fact no bs

Bankrunner – I said that drumming will gain you a color grade
Where did I say that you can turn yellow coon into black coon?

buy mik mohrs and gary armstrongs coon book. it`s in there. they wrote it about 3o years ago and I imagine a few dealers still have it. it`s narrow boards, belly skinning, and grease reliefing and having the belly fur inthe right place adjacent tothe window sides and combing that belly fur ( always silver) proper, brushing I mean. it won`t turn a d to an a, but is sure will move a b to and a.

Yes, Gary's book is as good now as when I purchased it 30 years ago.
when someone else opinion differs from you- you aren't getting slammed- you are getting opinions from people that have as much or more experience as you.
and those opinions WILL get as much credence as your opinions.
