I have some #2 and 3's and I wanted to take the play out of the pan. I understand one way to do this is.... to drill the pan and post w/ a #14 drill and use a #10 nut/bolt, could you use a 3/16. Will this solve my trouble? I wanted to get rid of the "bag" Looking for a better way. Thanks
ps... what about stainless for that nut/bolt combo?

I drill out holes and use a #10 bolt and nut. Also I will shim up the bolt on the insides of the pan holder with a thin brass washer, that will take the slack and the play out of the pans. A little pan tension will also help it then.

You'll find the holes are already large enough for the #10 screw. I tighten up the pan hole by clamping the pan shank vertically in the vise as tight as I can get it. The screw hole is above the jaws about 1/16th inch, shove a 3/16ths inch pin punch through the hole and tap the end of the protruding shank. Egg shapes the hole and the punch keeps it from getting too small. Might be a bit tight on the #10 screw, but if you turn it a few turns the threads in the hole will deform to a perfect fit.

Bill may do this also, but I put 2 thin brass washers between the pan and pan post......one on each side of the pan.....helps keep it from seizing up.
