Bob hit the nail on the head. It is a fast wild ride. Sometimes they just stick their legs out straight and brace them selves against the trap, while they waiting to meet Elvis. I find it easier not to set the cage up on one end. I use cages to transport live cats, that were caught in leg holds and keep them alive until I'm ready to skin them. Just makes skinning easier. My catch pole goes through the slots in the door and it is quick and easy. The cats that I had in live traps last winter, I also choked down.
