save your money and time.Moth balls are good for what they were made for. They have no effect upon animals as a repellent. They are also not registered for use beyond the label listing of control species and would most likely be illegal for their use as a wildlife control product. Also unless you are a licensed pest control agent you are not allowed to apply chemicals of any kind for a fee.
You need to find the entry points and install colony traps if you have any or you may have to single catch trap them if you dont have those types of traps.May have several trips back before resolving the job doing it one by one.

bob,i am licensed.i meet you one time at a convention you seemed like you know your stuff.if moth balls are out.then maybe i could make a door in the drywall to place my small cage trap.the house is old, lots of ways for them to get in and i don't trust walking on roof.if i rid of the squirrels the owner said he would have someone patch the place up.

To work they, like the BatScat and other repellents, has to applied strong enough to irritate. And then they tend to irritate the customer as well. Also this time of year they have a stock of food hidden they will be reluctant to leave. Trapping is about all that's left.

Because like most animals they are opportunists. If on location they will investigate.

If you can find their location you can also use regular snap traps "Rat sized" with good results. Find their toliet areas and you can set them heavily and save yourself some return trips.
Also do not forget to look for urine stains as these will also be a give away as to location.
Roof or no roof you will also be heads above to spend the ladder time to find every hole up front. Its your time but you'll be better off starting it up with that done first.
