that's too easy to say northof50, you never been where we live i believe.... snow fall put out of commission our traps and snares at least once a week if not more in the early winter. We have to go close to our snares and traps too often but we have no choice. Its tough..........

What Stef said.
Also the brush is thick so you have to get close enough to see your stuff.
But you're right in that our foot paths in the snow certainly don't help.

Ya forgot we get 30 inches and it stays all season, you get 30 inches in a week and its gone the next. That is one way a top Manitoba producer averages 50 wolves a year, with his island set. Baited barrels with fall beaver in them, little ravin eating happens, just a 10 mile odor drift for them to follow.

North: It isn't gone in a week. It accumulates. We wear snowshoes and all that stuff!
Kind of hard to run sled dogs without snow!
To get a crack at 50 wolves a year here you'd need several hundred square miles of territory.
But that would be a good time!

Oh; forgot guess all that hot air from Ottawa is not drifting your way. Good luck with the season. Keep your feet on the running boards........
