Before a hunt, the whalers with the Makah tribe would fast, bathe in ice cold streams and then rub stinging nettles all over their naked bodies, then thrash themselves with more stinging nettles. That was done to heighten their awareness (my guess is that would do it!). Sounds like a plan huh ?

I guess I could snap a few coilsprings on my fingers and toes and then rub skunk essence all over me.....that would raise my awareness......everyone else's too,,,,,

to be honest i do something kinda odd..lol when i buy new traps i have my wife kiss the box they came in for luck i also have her kiss my fishing reels every summer for luck,,lol i geuss its better than the nettles

Stinging nettles are indeed very rare on the west side of the penninsula so I think someone was pulling your leg. I can believe the other though. After you had nothing to eat for a few days anyone might decide to eat a grey whale and what other kind of a stream would you find up here to bath in but an ice cold one.
