I am told it's a GREAT coon attracter. With my testing I have found that yes it does draw them in but they HATE the taste at least in it's pure form. Lure men --- ?

There are many lure/bait ingredients that their value is an odor attractant and they are not very palatable to animals. Their value is in their attractiveness by smell. I doubt many products are made as a result of their taste impacts. But then again we as humans dont have the taste acceptances as animals do either.A lure or baits value is typically assessed by capture performance. Now if you were to base your decision on acceptability by taste then a few things would change no doubt.I have seen coons and canines take away some what I would deem non edible things from a set. Some were never found again, mabe eaten mabe not. Some found a short distance away. Yet the interest was still there. I would bet you may catch it down the road on the same odor/product along the way even if it did already have a taste of it.
Yes bitter almond is not a very tasteful chemical I would imagine, knowing its chemical makeup. It probably would make them sick by having too much of it.I think that deduction would be a given to many chemicals that are developed for odor qualities only.
