I found a 1.5 cs step in motgomery last fall it had been there awhile coated in junk and froze open I hung it in the barn. I asked the guys son whos name was on the tag about it. He said his dad hadnt trapped in 18-20 yrs. I have found a few of them over the yrs from the same fellow. Anyhow I am out in the shop goin over traps today an decided to bust this thing loose an see what parts I could get out of it. Knocked off the rust and junk set it and it went off like a new trap !! Better springs than a new duke and it had been set for close to 20 yrs WOW !!

I bought some # 1 1/2 Monty square jaws this year. Anybody have issues with them? I'm just a rookie but they seem like well built strong traps.

All of mine are square-jaws, and I've held coyotes with them, two coiled, with no problems. For fun I four-coiled one once. Scared me so bad I took 'em off...

smitty I have the same traps and have had several coyotes and bobcats in them, I can only think of one time the jaws were poped by a coyote, they are great for coons but if you have coyotes that will get in them you might want to put a weld bead on the jaw posts.
