I have read where trappers use SFE at urine post sets. It is said to illicit a urination response from fox.
Anybody use SFE at urine posts?

CoonDuke- this is a paper from the Logan Facility- its a pdf file, so I don't know how to copy it- but here is the link. It is a very interesting study determing the reactions of 9 captive coyotes to various lure ingriedients. Talks quite a bit about SFE and the like. Every coyote man here should read it- its a good read and there are some good things in it. www.aphis.usda.gov/ws/nwrc/is/98pubs/98-66.pdf

I attempted to go through the process to put it on here. You have to convert it to a jpeg, and because it is several pages long, and needs to be zoomed, it would take forever, I will do it, but most people have adobe acrobat reader, if anyone has trouble downloading it, let me know, I will download the file, zip it, and send it to you.

I have read that information on SFE, I tried some years back when Victor made SFE, I had more non targets than coyotes though, skunks and possums are bad news with this stuff, you have to beat them off with apole so they don't get to the set before a coyote or fox I really didn't have much luck with it outside of non targets, I tried it at post and flat sets, but I have found better attractors to use. In areas of low skunk or possum populations maybe a guy could do well with it, I don't even know who makes much of it anymore, the old victor line of lures where some good ones there coon special and rat special great lures, also there coyote matrix was a decent lure, I wonder where the formulas for those lures went?

TC35, You can bet that any Victor lure worth producing resides in Pete Askin's (founder of Sleepy Creek stuff) head. I started accumulating Victor's SFE in the late 80's. Don't see it around much at the conventions any more though. Little hint: most any lure that Pete chose to manufacture when he started up is probably worth checking out. Jim
