I have a Bushnell Elite 5-15x40 with Army Mildot and I like it alot. The days when calling and I forget the RF or need quick referance I think the mil dot will be real good! Also for moving coyotes. I order the mil dot master a very quick easy referance for knowing distance to target, the US Defense uses this as well.
I think after getting more time with this reticle it will benefit my coyote killing. Having tatical knobs and the mil dot seems to be a win-win given most any condition.

Mil dots are sweet, but you must know the dimensions of the object you are ranging. Mils are the same regardless, but there is a difference between Army mil dots and Marine mil dots.
On the lower end scopes the tactical knobs are not reliably repeatable. Consequently, its better to hold over via your mils and shoot rather than cranking on the knobs.
Milling is mathematically accurate, but a lot of it depends on the skills of the operator.
It may be much quicker to use the RF vis-a vis ranging through the scope, referring to the MD master and adjusting the scope.
You may want to look at the Horus vision reticles.

I have found my clicks so far to be real good on the leupold I have and also on this new Elite scope. The beauty of the mil dot master I can size an average coyote from belly to back and be in the ball park to make killing shots with a .243 I'm sure out to 400+ yards.
Yes mine has the army mil dot in this reticle.

Make a range chart and keep it with you. I have shot tons of Ground hogs with a mil dot. 768 was my best but that rig was a 300 Lapua Mag 14 pound rifle in a Mcmillan A5 stock. Nightforce 8x32 scope. Here's the new scope I want to order. Now Jimmy don't beat me to it. Kelby's is not picking up the phone this week with the Super Shoot going on. www.kelbly.com/scopes.htmlCheck out there scope rings also.

The mil dot master has room on the back for a range chart just print it out and stick it on there.
