How do you carry them in the field when setting/checking traps, without them getting all beat up by the rest of your equipment?

I use a 5 gal bucket for coyotes. I have attached to the side of the bucket with 2 small bolts the pocket from a pair of waders. This rubber pocket is tuff and holds the screens nicely, always within reach.

I put about 50 in a zip lock sandwich bag and that works good. What works even better is to use wax paper with the roll cut to the correct length. I then put it in a vise and close it for a couple days. I put this in my hind pocket and it is always ready for use and you always have it with you. HP

I never carry them, always forget them in the truck!
seriously, I will make an envelop out of cardboard, stapled on three sides and open on one end. I'll put about 20 - 30 screens in it. I'll make 10 or so of these up before the season. There's always a pack ready to go.

I carry mine in gallon zip loc bags, its fair at best, I 'm thinking about making a small box out of 1/4" plywood just bigger than the screens to carry them in, complete with a sliding top.....B...

I have just kept them in ziplocks also and have had no trouble with them getting mangled as long as there is 3 or more in the bag, when it gets to 1 or 2 they start to get damaged a little but not bad even then. I may make somthing for them to ride in just to make it quicker to get one out to use.

C2, for you I'd suggest getting a quart of motor oil, pour out most of the oil...in the bottom of your trap basket, this will keep things from sticking together...Back to the screens...make sure the qt oil bottle is the rectangle shaped ones, not round, cut off the top of neck to square it up, rivet this to the side of your pack and the screens fit in there great. You can fit about 25-30 and no need to rinse the bottle out the oil will help lubricate your traps. ;D
