I'm finishing my Horizontal one today. As soon as my son will finish painting it... I'll post a pic or 2.
I will use the golf ball method for coyote. For coon, I use 2 vise-grip "custom" with plates.

You don't need any golf ball or any fancy vise grip hold downs. All you need Is a slip noose made out of 1/8 cable. Skinned over 800 coon last year and never had a noose slip off the hide. I loaned my skinner to a friend and he did 28 coyotes with the same noose system and never had one slip off. Simple cheap and fast. And will not damage the hide.
