Zag had an excellent post. Gusto, GH-II, LDC, good luck with all. Im making more and more of my own lure all the time. I started with beaver lure and worked my way out. With tinkering and testing Im find less and less difference between my lure and "commercial" lures all the time. Not saying that to brag just that a decent lure in the right location is the key

1st: I don't want to change the formula.... if I make it to a paste.... It won't be the same Cachottier.. Yes it will be the same smell but it won't be be as good as it is now because of the volatility (calling power reduced).
Strike 2..LoL: I tried it Zag and this is the problem.... When it is cold.. Cachottier turns thicker and pasty like you like and if I put it in narrow Boston round bottles... Nobody will be able to take out Cachottier out of a bottle in cold weather.
All in all, thanks for the great comments (good or bad) I take them on a constructive way and I'm coming soon with some new amazing stuff that I'm working on.
Later

Stef...no worries...thanks for listening.
Heck, I just have 6-7 4-ouncers left, so will be using it for a while, and cussing you all the way! LOL
Perhaps you could thin it to the point where I can use it out of a squirt bottle, like pee? I'd go for that too.............I am easy to get along with.

"Squirt bottle" lures are by far the easiest to use for me. There are very few of these type lures on the market though.

I'll take a 4 oz bottle of Russ Carmans Canine Call and mix it with a pint of urine......great squirt bottle lure.

For a true CALL lure, not sure how you could beat SKUNK.....it works when all others are froze out, at least from my experience.

Has anyone tried mixing 4 ounces of Cachottier into a pint of fox urine?

Yes Dave- its my freshing up trick when I don't want to have to relure everything- say a check or two before pulling. The cachottier smells comes out well in the urine.
Urine and cac is a DANDY coon changeup also.

I'm sure Cachaottier would work just fine......I've used many different liquid type lures in urine.

Dave, I think a trapper close to you "Dan" If I can remember correctly wanted to thin it one year to speed up luring a set (flip top bottle) and he asked me which stuff should better for doing it without changing its odor and I told him Glycol propylene.
I don't know if it worked good for him that way?
Myself, I just dip something in it and use it that way.
Some like to squirt, some like to dip & some like to pour it but nobody lick it... ;D

I know Mark don't worry... I listen and I like it. There's always good things, good ideas when you listen to customers/real trapper users and I'm looking forward to listen to everybody with any kind of comments.. Its the only way to get better.
Thank you

Ok, thanks Steve...Most of what I use is my own paste lure made from collected fox anal glands but I do change it up every once in a while with Cachottier. While he is usually a confused coyote trapper attempting to catch weasels, I do understand what Zag-mister is talking about with the lure on the side of the bottle and the smell all over ..My wife loves that smell (NOT)... I'll need to try mixing it with some urine.
