i know cats tend to work the outside of dens pretty well, do you think they will go down inside of one to have a look see?

i know they like to work some tree blow downs that go into rivers or swamps, i think they sit out there waiting to grab a piece of fur or possibly a duck. this is evident when snow falls.

I know of several bobcats have been caught as incedentals (and released) on the DesMoines river in Iowa and nearly all of these were caught in old high water beaver bank dens that been turned into coon sets.

There is documentation of a bobcat having a litter of kittens in an abandoned beaver house.

I have caught bobcats before in abandon beaver lodges. They love beavers around here some people say its terrible bait I disagree.I have 3 to 5 eaten each year by bobcats every time they drug them out of the water and tried to bury them.I have very good success in catching these beaver eaters the very next night with a couple sets around the beaver carcass

I set EVERY beaver dam with at least 1 cat set. I really don't mess with the den it's self but If you have some that are exposed I'm sure they would work for a wandering cat.
