My experiance is the same as Brian's, but I will add i left it in the ground for 2 seasons. When I opened it ,it was not harsh smelling at all. Fermented egg mixes well with many other ingrediants, but i bet the shelf life of these lures is short since keeping a lure hydrated is something I never considared.
