This off season I want to research and get a different perspective on trapping Bobcats. I know some of you have your own video but, I want to know how people on here rank them as far as learning new things. Any suggestions are appreciated. I don't want to invest over $30.00 for a video that is worthless. I learned from a Trapper from Idaho that took me under his wing and now I want to learn more.

Being that you're in Nevada, Bobcatching is excellent and the perfect choice. I started from scratch this season and learned most of what I know about putting up cats (among other things) from that video.
Considering where I live, John Graham's video really hit the mark. That was the one that really drove it home for me. Mostly because he points out what expectations should be set at for a cat trapper in this area. That was a point I hadn't seen in many trapping or calling videos. But information that won't apply everywhere. He shows a lot of techniques that will though.
Looks like I better keep an eye on this thread for my third video.

Your right about bills book. I got it last year. I do like hearing peoples opinions. I do like the fact some are shot out west here. Your right, I will probably be able to relate more because of that.

if you were working central or eastern cats I`d say mine for sure, hands down, but where you are located I`d have to say steve woods for sure , hands down. can`t say on the others as not seen them. seems to me if on limited funds buy the one filmed in the type area you trap. if unlimited funds and buying just for entertainment, heck, buy them all. they are probably all worth at least the asking prices if they even caught you 1/10th of a cat more.

I think I opened my mind to thinking more on cats after watching Slim Pedersons video, I think it will help anyone anywhere. If Jonny Thorpe ever made one, I'd buy it.

For me its
Bob Wendt's Bobcatching OG's snaring videos when he's covering the cats
Bob needs to put out a cat II video as I like to see videos that pertain to my habitat.

Ive read/seen all above except JC's, and great information in all of them. Ive used bits and pieces of all of them to become a better trapper. Like Bob W. said, probibly picking one that is closest to you country/terrain would be best start, although I think all of them have something to offer no matter where you live. My favorites are Bob's and John G. and Steve's. I would recomend the book, The Bob Trappers Guide also if wanting to learn more about habits, territory sizes etc. I have the book in stock, and so does Sterlings.

rk, is that the book with the territory studies and such that you told me about a year ago? if so , get me a copy sometime when it`s convenient. go finish your trapping first and when your season is over and you get a little sleep, then send it, I`m too covered up putting up fur to read it now anyway. I`ll read it at night this summer in wyoming when out in the boonys and bored to tears.

I would ditto the above recommendations.
Bubba, the Bobcat Trappers Guide is an excellent book on behavior and habits. You'll enjoy it if you open your mind. LOL!
Although all the videos and books recommended are good, (haven't seen Bob's yet), There is no substitute for spending some time tracking them in the snow in your area. No book or video will teach you where to set in your area. Only the cats in your area will teach you that.

Bob , yep thats the book. Rich was good enough to let me read that one and a WHOLE lot of usable info in there. Applies every where I have trapped also.
