You guys seem to be the Coyote Masters on here. So I figured this was the place to post this. Last night I put up my first coyote. And a fox, not my first, but still managed to pop half the tail off. The coyote was frozen, so I had to thaw him for a day. It took me about 30 minutes to skin this coyote. Your right, they are kinda hard when there cold. But I'm not complaining. I had a stand still around the front legs, I wacked the legs off near the elbow. It just took me a while to navigate around them. This Coyote was killed with Buckshot. How does the coyote look? Is that a good wide belly? I don't have much experience with coyotes yet. And yes I know, I'm supposed to cut off the bottom lip, but I was thinking of getting it tanned. Thanks, Kyle Moses

they both look very good to me. I don't pin the ears- and don't know if this is common practice or not. A tip on the tail- take the knife edge, and slit the first inch or so before pulling he tail. you aren't the first to pull a tail off.... ;D

Good looking fur Kyle, you did yourself proud. "Hey, I see you had Corey skin your fox!! " Don't worry about your fox's tail, that happens to the best of us Kyle.... for those of you that don't know, Bristleback (whom i'm going to refer to as T.D.U guy, Thunder Down Under guy) and I went out to Vegas to go bear hunting with Truman (whom i'm going to refer to as F.A.G. Fox Armageddon Guy) this last fall, had a great time hunting bears, and running F.A.G's traps with him....anyway, on the first check of F.A.G's traps we had a couple cats and a whole pile of fox to skin....now remember T.D.U. guy and I had been up for 24hrs before we got down to F.A.G's place, then F.A.G took us on his line which was pretty hard going, T.D.U, and I were wore out when we got back to F.A.G's palace....but whe had all these grey fox that F.A.G had caught yet to skin, so we bucked up and started skinning them. Now picture this, T.D.U can't think of anything except this big Thunder Down Under Show that F.A.G. had got him a ticket to, F.A.G can't think of anything except his bottle of Vodka that he "tincture's his glands with"....so it was pretty much up to me to skin all these cold fox, while T.D.U was dreaming, and F.A.G was tincturing his glands....anyway, I pulled the dang tail off on ONE dang cold grey fox, mostly because all i'm used to skinning is possums, and they don't have one of those fancy furry tails.....and F.A.G won't let me hear the end of it. Thats the rest of the tailess grey fox story, and most of it is true. Corey P.S. I messed up once and didn't get the copyright on the "Hollywood" logo that I came up with, I'm not making that mistake twice....I have copyright's in process on Trumans F.A.G logo, and Bristlebacks T.D.U logo, so don't try and steal it.

Don't forget to remove the ear cartilages before. It fluffs up the neck area well pinning ears like that

stef, your red coyotes, if you are getting beat up at auction on them, I believe you could do real well with a little creative marketing, but you need to forget the fur market.

Help me...LoL Last year in 2006, I think I was lucky... could sell 11 coyotes for 535$ cash ( 10 @ $500 and 1 @ $35 ugly coyote )... Could not refused that you know so i sold them.
Thanks but believe me... the rare foxes I can catch now are not all, like my pic above.. if they could be as nice as those above... wowwww that would be nice... I catch garbage too.
