I've caught a lot of coyotes with roof shingles clipped to the pan on uncovered traps.
If the oil and tar in a roof shingle doesn't scare them I doubt the shelf liner will do worse.
Some coyotes are smart others aren't.

I gotta give the shelf lining stuff a try. Last few yeas I used wax paper. This year I've been giving coffee filters a try. I'm not real happy with either. Maybe this will be a winner.

Bend your screen pan covers upwards in half across the middle, and straighten them back before you form fit them to the pan. This will cause a crease to lay right across the center of the pan. No more bubble.

It will be interesting to see how it works for coyotes if you guys try it for them. It is kinda sticky and rubbing it in the dirt will give it a dusty look. When set under juniper trees, the dusty, dirty black color looks OK with just a dusting of juniper duff. I'm sure some cats have stepped on the exposed cover. I do use it for cats and then only with coil springs. I'd rather not catch coyotes and do everything I can to keep them out of my cat sets. When targeting cats, coyotes are just a big ol' possum to me. ;D As Joel stated, I also prefer shingles and enlarged pans with my longsprings.

I do the same Marty, Make the crease so it lays dead center of pan when loose jaw is laid down........ I use aluminum, I don't boil it, Just cut it and use it! I also DO NOT cut a "V".....Instead I cut a straight line 2X so the slot is maybe 1/8" wide. When I put it over the dog I pinch it back together quicklike. Locks to the trap better.... Less problems while twisting it in! Thats just me.....
