This is a SEPARATE question...not on the topic of what THIS topic is...That is why there is a NEW TOPIC button...you should use it..and start a new topic on your question instead of deviating from the original question...THEN your answers will come... lynx

Lynxcat:
You've confirmed there are two genius personalities on this site. I built a bunch of drags from one inch rebar this summer, with smooth, sharp tines for points. They look EXACTLY like the one you posted. The texture on the rebar will hang up, leave drag marks, etc., and the sharp tines will dig in great. My rebar stock was given to me by a steel supplier who even cut it to length for me as a favor. Sweet.

Si, FREE is always gooooood.
I like the weight of them. Never had coyotes really take drags a long way on me, but I've been fortunate enough to do most of my coyote trapping in sagebrush, and like was mentioned, they spend their time chewing the sagebrush down rather than putting distance between them and the catch site.
I'll tell you, pound for pound, the grey fox gets my vote for fighting a trap and moving a drag. I've caught coyotes before that didn't make it the length of the chain away from the set, and then later catch a grey and watch him make like a bread truck.

** I think being "almost free" kinda screws with their head **
Yep,give a coyote hope and hes off to the races.......
You are right on the money with the adult/pup/grapple/stake thing......
Lynxcat,I agree with cats, more mess the better...it stinks soooo good.....when I want them off the roadside;I cable slider them. When I used to use small drags on cats(it was brushy)I would always make a new set where the cat stopped......with the heavy iron,I just re-use the old set.
FWIW I bought a DVD on cat trapping, very well done...lots of cats and no BS.I'm not much of a video guy unless I know the person, but I like this one.I'm sorry I dont remember who it is,or the title of the video..........

Joel,
He prefers that you refer to him as The Legendary Hollywood.
Not really, Steve is as humble a guy as you'll find, and he's got some great insights on cats and how to catch them. Your description of the DVD is very accurate: No BS, and lots of good info. I think it's way too cheap, but that's just my way of thinking. ;D
