figured I’d share a few snare sets taken at one location. I’m using the Devil’s Hatpin snare support system, 1x19 cable, camlock, and chokespring. When all of these components are incorporated together you don’t need entanglement and this allows you to snare coyotes in places you’d never be able to snare them before. Also, since the coyote (or fox, or coon, etc.) expires within a couple of minutes there’s no (or extremely little at most) set destruction, plus no standing animal – both of which draw attention and one of which causes you to move snares all the time.
This one is a pic of the hatpin set for coyote in a go down, where a weed had grown naturally thus forcing the animal against the side wall of the go down:

This next one is a pic of the hatpin set for coyote in a grazed pasture cow trail - no entanglement needed, nothing to blend in with except that piece of weed that grew next to the trail... what more do you need? Answer: Nothing more with the Devil's Hatpin!
The next pic is the same set as above, just taken from a lower - coyote height - angle. As you can see, wide open spaces guys... www.landmtrapping.com/images/8e_1.jpg[/img]
Finally, the last pic, this trail has four Devil's Hatpins set on it, two of which are pictured above. This location took 3 coyotes on the first check. The first snare (pic #2 & #3) is just few feet from where I was standing - see that little stick in the trail, it's right there - and is intended and typical of the Hatpin, the set is totally invisible.
Kinest regards and good trapping,
