I dye and wax all of my land traps. Even coon traps.
The only traps I dip are coni's and some water traps, only because I don't feel like cleaning the dip off of them. ALL new traps will be dyed and waxed.

I dye and wax all my foothold traps. Coni's get just dye. I have tried spray painting coni's but went back to dye since I was doing all my traps every yr and couldnt see buying spray paint to touch the conis up....John

To quote a song, I have come 'round full circle.
I started dying and waxing, then played with a bunch of dips hoping to find something better, and I'm now back to logwood crystals and high quality wax with rosin. Can't go wrong this way.

Gotta add that do it more to preserve the trap than any other reason.

A lot going on. Might be moving to left coast. Haven't had a lot of time to post. Thanks for the comment, didn't think I was missed.

Might be moving to left coast. Uh-oh. Hopefully to a state where you can trap.

This year will be my first exception to dye and wax;the new montanas seem to be dark enough to move to the water without the dye,so they will be power washed, dryed and waxed.
the 1.75's are rough, they need the full monty(no pun intended)and next year I am sure I will wax and dye all canine traps again.
