Z, try Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. Very high test, should allow you to get 3.4 more traps per day in.

LMAO! Don't always cover much ground, but it's fun getting there. ;D Zagman; Take this for for whatever it's worth. Don't ask me to explain it, but I see almost always. The bottom line, I have never caught one of the elusive 75-90 lb coyotes that all the deer hunters around here shoot!I run bait stations three months a year. Tower stand, infra red sensors on the bait, and night vision. Towers got bunks, and heated. I spend a good 1,000 hrs a season out there. I see this all the time. 4 coyotes approach the the bait. The first is a BRUISER, 4 ft, butthole to brisket. he comes in, NEVER stops, bypasses the bait, and ducks for cover, lurking in the shadows. (He's a wary bugger as far as I can tell.) He hides in the closest cover, and lets the other coyotes move in on the bait. 1,2,3 in a row. THEN he will come in, or, move over to claim a muskrat from from one the adolescents. I don't believe he's the loving parent, letting the kids eat first. I believe it's a case of guinea pigs. And I know I'm describing a common carcass bait scenario, but I've seen it work the same a few times with steel in the ground. I catch a coyote, but I don't win the superbowl! ;D When junior gets toggled up, dad hits the trail. For whatever it's worth. I've seen this unfold many, many times. But, also, I'm not so sure I'd want to be out bragging up abnormally large coyotes too much.

Bub:
I understand they exist....my point, tongue in cheek, was that EVERY coyote a deer hunter shoots "weighs" 75-90 lbs, they just never see a scale.

Well Dj; I can show you a pic of a 3 hundred lbs deer, and introduce you to the warden who weighed it. ;D
But I can't show you a pic of an 80 lbs coyote.
300 lbs deer are legal. ;D

I know 300lb deer exist, but NOT down this way, NH, Maine, VT yeah, a few every year. That comment was for all the guys who shoot 250-300 lb. deer every year. The hunters down this way are a whole different breed, kinda like Massholes invading the North Country. Or put another way, your typical weekend ski buff with his Landrover etc. only carrying a gun.
