Hi All, Anyone have any ideas as to which states require an education program be undertaken prior to ADC work being undertaken by individuals? Or maybe the states have training available but not mandatory? Regards, Ed

Hi Ed,
Good to see you here Ed long time no talk.
Come on folks help an old American trapper out with his questions. He saw the light and came to live in Australia many years ago and he fights the good fight over here.

The province of New Brunswick has mandatory ed for ADC work, maybe Nepisiguit on the fourm can give you more details. Also the province of British Columbia has just completed some work towards such training. Cheers Jim

Indiana in the US requires you to pass a test. They provide the study kit.

Arkansas does not at this time.
State Game and Fish Commission occasionally holds seminars/classes on ADC topics.

Well in Quebec I went to a college that offers a course on Wildlife management... But to tell you the truth you have to do it hands on and not on paper for you to get experience and success. Every situation is different.

At this time NC has a two day mandatory course and I believe you are required to take that course every three years. A background check is also conducted before becoming licensed. I am not positive about the three years.

Every state and province has there own laws. personally I tell folks to contact NWCOA and to put you in contract with a State rep who can tell you laws governing adc work in your area.
One thing is for sure there is truly nothing common about our industry as we cross state and province borders.
