I have a call for mink removal, its a 3 acre pond thats fenced in with 2x4" wire 6' tall , it has a hot wire top and bottom, its very brushy and sits on 1000 acres of unfarmed land (tall grass, trees, briars etc.). This guys has 600 mallard ducklings in this enclosure, almost zero human contact so that they end up semi wild. The mink has been seen(and shot at) it killed 5 day before yesterday, like within an hour of putting them in the enclosure 10 yesterday and 2 last night. I can't really set inside the enclosure cause of the ducks. I set up the spillway with 4 blind sets yesterday but didn't connect last night. Any Advice??
I really ned to get this mink as this guys owns and lets me trap 1000's of acres of really good land spread all over the county....B....

are there any other holes in the neeting besides the spillway? Look over every inch of it- because it doesn't take much. Food sets would seem to be out- although you might try using some of the dead ducklings in a couple of dry pockets.
THis could be a real tough job- you are going to have to find the entrances. I would THINK a hot wire would keep him from going over-
is the spillway chicken wired? If not, maybe you can block it and run a double netting- one to keep ducks out- another a couple of feet back with cutouts for 100s?

You could find the likely entrance spots and then dig them out a little into a minksized crawl under. Problem is that 2X4 wire he can get through at will. Also on a three acre pond he won't be the only mink that finds the ducks. Good luck and let us know how you get him..

if you have a small live trap, use a sunfish or salted minnows wired in the back and you wont have any problem getting your mink. just set you live trap upwind of the enclosure and rest will be easy. www.southshoresportsman.com

Fence the whole thing at the bottom with smaller mesh. If the enclosure is too big, still use smaller sections and cut a hole for him to use. Mink aren't hard to fence into a trap.
