** Graduates of this years academy will earn the prestigious title of Academy Certified Professional, ACP. All graduates will receive a beautiful certificate and an ACP patch (additional patches, and shirts will be available for purchase).
** Graduates will also receive their Certified Bird Control Specialist certificate from Bird Barrier.
** This years academy will once again be evaluated for credit hours towards the NWCOA Certified Wildlife Control Professional program. Graduates of the academy will earn more than 50 credit hours. That's more than half the credit hours needed for those seeking this national certification. For those of you that may already be a CWCP, your attendance will provide more than enough credits at this one event alone for your re-certification.
** We will also be discussing (and providing the form) explaining how each attendee can earn the Bat Conservation International Professional Excluders Certification. I can not speak for everyone in the industry but speaking from our own experience we annually receive half or more of our bat work from our listing with BCI. Everything you need to know to earn this certification and being referred by this organization will be provided at the academy.
Many hours are in the field. We spend an entire day out of the classroom. We go out to areas and have demonstrations and hands on setting of equipment, trapping woodchucks, moles etc. We also have an instructor with a metal brake to show how its used and how to bend metal for damage repairs. There will be a ton of traps and equipment for everyone to use. This years field day is being totally recreated with new classes and hands on experiences.
This year Bird Barrier is returning to give their full course of instruction, 7 hours. Half of those hours are spent with the products and building samples, netting in a frame, ledge exclusion devices and a shock track board so you see and feel the product, understand its installation and you have samples to bring home that you can show customers as to what products you are certified to install.
As a bonus, everyone attending will receive a certificate from Bird Barrier that you are a certified installer of their products. Everyone will also receive a gift certificate in the amount of $25 towards their first purchase of any products from them. The BB course will be open as a stand alone event which means you can attend this day without attending the rest of the academy. The fee is $100 (that's a $75 savings) and includes everything above as well as a wonderful catered lunch and refreshments all day.
*** Copperfield Chimney Supply is returning as well. They will be presenting 3 hours of classes on Chimney caps, top dampers, damper doors, chimney repair and more. They will also be presenting outstanding classes on customer service. Everyone will receive a special certificate of attendance for these classes.
*** We are planning on a full day being dedicated to Safety issues. Michigan Safety Supply is returning to provide their wonderful presentation on respirators and fall protection equipment (bring your own respirators for a free "fit test") They will again be bringing their incredible Fall Safety Trailer for the outside demo.
** NEW - Also attendeing is Tim Christie presenting his unforgetable electrical safety class and Indiana Power will be attending with their electrical safety trailer which is a show stopper !!
**** We are in the process of developing a brand new class this year. Firearm use and safety. It is our hope to be able to get the entire class out on a range to demonstrate and fire rifles, shotguns, pistols and airguns. More info on this as it develops !!!!.
Dr. Bob Wendt will be returning for his classes on Zooinosis, euthanasia and discussing and showing his famous coyote trapping videos. His classes are worth the price of admission alone !
Alan Huot is returning as a staff instructor for the entire week. Supplies, equipment, presentations on how to use equipment as well as his famous Mole Control Video and demonstrations. (this class forever changed my own business as well as our income !!!)
Below are some of the classes planned for this year (besides Bird Barrier, Copperfield Chimney and Michigan Safety Supply)............

The price, $1,350. Some of you just stopped reading right here LOL !! I know it sounds expensive but read on.
Included in your fee ........
The Event itself and all the instruction you will receive
Your hotel bill is included in the price, your not paying the hotel on top of this. (we use the buddy system, if you know someone that's attending and wish to share the room with them we can arrange that, or we assign room mates, works out super and folks make great friends this way).
For those flying in to Fort Wayne Airport, we will pick you up on Sunday and bring you back on Friday.
You will receive the hotels continental breakfast each day (and its good !) as well as Catered Lunch and Catered Dinner (outstanding !!) And yes, a hot and cold lunch in the field on field day !!
Soda, coffee, bottled water, juice, fruit and snacks are provided all day every day.
Your academy handbook and all additional handouts (a ton of stuff !)
A Graduation patch and Certificate
Everyone will also receive a business card wallet. (We started a tradition last year, everyone brings a stack of business cards (bring at least 60 cards) and we put one of each into everyone's card wallet so you can stay in touch with the new friends and business associates your going to meet here).
Everyone gets a door price ticket each morning Monday - Thursday (excellent products raffle at the end of the week!!) (proceeds from the raffles will be donated to the WOAF Wildlife Operators Assistance Fund)
One of the features that I really like is the location. At this event there is not much to do other than train and get to make friends (and EAT !!!!) . There is a HUGE Wal-Mart and a Staples and restaurants all right across the street but that's about it. There is very little distraction from the event itself.
I highly suggest that those of you that are considering earning a national certification, receiving intense training from the top industry instructors, having a whole lot of fun and making friends for life that you budget some funds and schedule this time to be here. Heck, its only the cost of a few squirrel jobs. I take that back, its not a cost as all, its the best investment in yourself and your business that you could ever make. Taking a week off from your business may seem hard to do but this event can and will change your business and your income for life. What I learned the first year just about moles increased my business income by 20% in one year, and I repeated that again last year. This is a must attend event for serious business owners, new and old. Hope to see many of you there in April
(class size is limited, register early !!!!)
