I have a friend who has residents he would like to leave the premesis, A female raccoon decided to have her young down in a window well which is grated over at the top of the window. There was just enough room between the siding and the top of the unmovable steel grate for the female to squeeze her body through. I can not put a catch pole down through the grate to remove her and the young. I suggested that they should leave them alone and that she would eventually move them herself. That is not good enough for them as there is quite a racket comming from the young. The owner of the house wants to o[pen the basement window in the hopes that it will frighten them into leaving. I told them this could be dangerous. Does anyone have any ideas that they think will work in getting them to leave?

You could force the female into a cage trap at the exit, then remove the young through the window opening. If you prefer to have her move them, you might try raccoon eviction fluid / paste - it has worked well for me in many situations where the young were located in inaccessable areas. www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.comRegards, Mike
