I've never used the cinch traps I will have to give them a try after they take the first cutting of hay. Last year we brought our township the feet from 300 gophers they paid us but told my boys that that was enough for the year. We have 3 dairy farms we trap for my boys really enjoy it and the make some fun money and it gets us trapping permisson. It's funny the townships never complain about paying for problem beaver but I suppose they cost them a lot more money. Township guys need a talking to. A holes I mean they have a bounty or not? 300 gophers shouldn't be nothing/

never had that happen- Once I had a job in another county where the township only paid $1 for bounty ,and they were giving me the 3rd degree on where they were caught - finally I said "you guys pay #1- every other township pays minimum $1.50- if I was going to cheat- why would I do it here?"

If it was so easy to trap gophers those cheap county townships would be doing it. When you figure the cost of machinery wrecked by gopher mounds, the trappers should insist on $2 a gopher PLUS hourly wage or and mileage. Some townships with big money crop producers can easily afford gopher control at a decent $$ per hd count.

I've had more than one farmer after I'd get the gophers under control tell me he'd take care of it from now on........and a couple of cuttings later...........

I had it once where a "beaver" trapper came up to me and said there were beaver behind his house, and the dnr wanted them gone- would I trap them (fur season). I asked why he didn't- he didn't have time. went there, and found dozs of old 330 setups- set up a couple castor mounds- and had them the next check- one was that 86lb beaver I caught. So many know 1 method- that fails and they are out of luck

on several occasions, I've taken 800-900 gophers off a farm the first year, and still plenty for the next

The farmers we trap for match what the township pays and never complain our township pays 3 dollars a gopher all of are trapping is within 5 miles of home. If I had more time we would do more of it the weather is nice and with fur prices the way they are it's better money. They county west of me pays a five dollar bounty if the farmer would match that it will probably be like selling two coons this fall without having to put them up.
