Remember when the grading was simpler?
How many ways can they say "damaged" and how bad is DG1?
Now there is select, 1 with a small star before it, 1, 1-11 ... and the list goes on.
I also like how the large marten stop at 21 inches and the XL start at 21 inches. All my 21 inchers got classified as L and not XL. My tape measure actually gave them more than 21 inches by a quarter to a half.
We'll see how the prices are before we whine any more!

Same on My Marten musher. I also measured all Mine and was a half in. or better over 21. As You, I'll wait for the dust to settle. Don't really care what they call them as long as the money is good.

All my boards are marked 1/2" past the sizes. I make sure they make it to the line or past. This allows for shrinkage. Also make sure you do not have a real narrow board or you can loose on size. All my marten sized as to what I measured.
Good point on the grade. I try to tell people not to get excited about what it is called. Every shin in the lot is the same and the buyer looks at a sample of that lot. He bids according to what he sees not what the written grade is. The buyers have very little info in their catalog and must decide for themselves what exactly it is.
