I don't think the photo does it justice but this fellow is likely one of the biggest coyotes I've ever trapped. Nice fur, too. Just thought I'd share.

No scales. I've weighed a few around 40 pounds and this one was likely in that league or a little better. He was a good looking specimen, as well. Not rubbed and good color.

I made up for it yesterday by catching one (same farm) that was in the initial phase of mange. No guard hair on front half of back, starting to get some scabs on front shoulders. I buried it at sea. Okay, it's a drought and the ditch was dry, but when the rains come, what's left will be drowned. I've caught two others this year with very early mange. One was all tail. Once I cut it off, it looked like a typical medium quality fur coyote. The other was mostly tail, but some lost fur quality. I'm hoping for $3 or $4 for it.
