It's illegal to pick up roadkilled deer in Utah, hence me asking this. Craig O'Gormann wrote in one of his snaring updates that he had found something to pour/bury on the ground that would bring in coyotes for a season, like a carcass, but wouldn't attract eagles. I'm having a tough time getting any sort of carcasses. Anyone have any luck or recommendations for a lure or some type of attractant to work like a carcass at a bait station for snaring? Here's some fox I caught at the one bait station I have up and running. Help me keep going! i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee59/thrstyunderwater/836975F9-D4D3-465F-996D-3B6E12E8FE6D-3192-000002C9AEE45C09.jpg

Id guess there would be several things one could do- such as pour copious amounts of blood into the dirt. That would stay a long time, and not have any attraction for birds of prey.
or as O'G does, use large amounts of a call lure up high- and by large amounts, ozs not drops
for that matter- any bait broken down into a liquid, would do the same as blood.
and don't forget visual attractants- I used to use them a lot, went away from them for a while, but dabbled with them again (cow skulls) and was pleased

How much money do you have? You could go to the sale barns and buy junk sheep and goats. Haul them alive to the dump site and put them down. I know Weastern trappers that do that. Any fur buyers In the area?

Think he was saying livestock auction houses , they may have no takes and some cheap not much left critters that can be taken up to be the draw station

What works great is to get the used cooking oil from fast food places, Kentucky Fried Chicken, donuts shops, etc.
Use a ling bar and make some deep holes in the ground and then fill them with the used cooking oil. Pour some around on the ground also. Add a few butcher scraps and bones.

The animals walk in the holes and radiate out a scent cone in their foot prints as they walk away... That is what rendered cooking oil does.
