Was great place to eat at Higgenston (spelling) Fire up the road to the west burned about two miles of telephone poles down to ground and burned two ranches and two homes. Offroad ban with ND confiscating your vehicle put the clamps and alot of trapping plus the super dry conditions and no water most of creeks, rivers and ponds... never saw so many dead cattle stuck in mud on the ranches...which i had to walk into... grrrr.... plus first three days out north of Scranton ect everything was froze solid, land and water. I picked up yotes, bvr, coon, mink, rats where i could, lots of walking. the bvr are grey color and picked up alot of 60 # plus ones. Could have got more but wasnt going to carry them more than a half mile... had fun, wind kept my hair swept back......for you that know me, i dont have hair...lol......

Hettinger? The place was it called pastime steak house? They have a bar side and a more formal dining side. There food is great! When my youngest was born the last night of my wifes stay the hospitol there brings the new parents a filet minon dinner for two. Man they are great steaks! Of course they call it complamentry for using the hospitol but I'm sure it was figuered into my bill LOL. I ate there more than a few times through the years, always excellent food and great service. The old saying about the dakotas, the only place you can have all 4 seasons in the same day

Yep its the Pastime Stk House and bar. I believe it has been there since 1878. Service was great. I stopped there but they werent open till five pm, my watch was still set daylight sav time. and so had hr to burn and went snooping country side from road. Came back right at five and got right in but by time we left hour later , people were standing in line. Thanks for the tip. By the way , i was surprised how heavy the yotes fur was already. I had to really pull on fur comb when i combed before fleshing. Nothing with real white bellys but caught alot of adults, no many young of the year.
