I stopped at one of my usual set locations by a culvert crossing a deep drainage ditch, 1/2 mile off the road, bean field on each side. I could see some whitish looking stuff scattered about in the area and when I looked closer, they were goose feathers. It looked like a goose had been blown up! It was mostly breast or body feathers, a few wing feathers, one foot and a chewed up breastbone. The odd thing is this isn't goose country. There's probably never been a goose land in those fields, never in the drainage ditch. It's an odd place to go clean a goose. The landowner lives 5 miles away and doesn't hunt. So I made a set between 2 clumps of feathers and caught this "feather-merchant" the first day. I should have checked its teeth to see if there were still feathers stuck between the molars. The white/gray stuff behind the 'yote is one pile of feathers, the other is about where I'm standing to take the picture.
